OUT AND ABOUT ROYAL BELUM



So guys.. let's focus here! 

I'm gonna give you some knowledge about this place. Ye laa. Who knows later on you will get influenced by my writing and visit this place. HAHAHA. Okay jokes!

For your information... Haa amekaw. Seems like a teacher sangat! okay la I serious. Ehem. I'm being serious here guys. * rollin' eyes.

Nahh here we go~

"Royal Belum" is the largest continuous forest complex in Peninsular Malaysia. It is located in the Malaysia state of Perak and crosses into Southern Thailand. It is divided into two section which is up and down. This Royal Belum is actually bordered between Malaysia-Thailand. The vast forest areas can be considered as a natural barrier and "gazette" security zone / safe. 

Fyi, Royal Belum and Temenggor  are allowed to grow wild as Perak Government has decided to maintain the area as a nature reserve for research purposes. The part of the upper forest is untapped 90%, while the bottom is generally covered by secondary forest.

In the forest, there have a variety of plants and trees hardwood tropical rainforest endangered. Among them is like Meranti species, Cengal, Keruing and Merbau large.

At here too, there are various kinds of herbs that can be used to treat a variety of diseases. There is also a difficult plant species found nowhere else, such as Rafflesia, which is the largest flower species that grows wild here!

  • Royal Belum declared by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah in 2003.
  • Royal Belum gazetted under the Perak State Parks Corporation Act 2001 by the Government of Perak on 17 April 2007.
  • Gazetted areas with an area of 117,500 hectares.
  • It is estimated, Royal Belum has more than 3,000 species of flora and 64 species of ferns, 62 species of moss and 23 species of fish river which makes the forest area including river and lake as their habitats.
  • Identified as Environmental Sensitive Area under the Physical Plan Malaysia 2005 for sheltering elephants, tigers, rhinos and tapirs.
  • Royal Belum has three of the 20 species of the world's biggest flower in which one of them Azlanii named after Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah.
